Setting Up Broker Fee - ADMIN ONLY

1. Hover over the Settings Icon.

2. Click Carrier Quoting Setup.

3. Click View Details on the carrier in question.

4. Click on the Broker Fee tab

5. From within the Broker Fee tab, Rating Engine Admins will see the option to checkmark the Enable broker fees for all users. Enabling this will provide the rest of the agency the ability to see the Broker Fee tab for this particular carrier.

6. Checkmark the Show broker fees in my returned quotes option. Enabling this will allow you to see the Broker Fee in the returned quote results after submitting a rating application through the Rating Engine.

Attention! - If a Rating Engine Admin DOES NOT check this, the rest of the agency CANNOT see the Broker Fee tab for that carrier. If they can't see the Broker Fee tab, they can't check the Show Broker Fees in my returned quotes option. If they can't check the Show Broker Fees option, they will not see the Broker Fee in the returned quote results.

7. Next, click the Add State(s) field to add the states you would like to setup for your agency as a whole on this particular carrier. Please note you can add multiple states to the same line item. This is a great way to save time if certain states have the same broker fee amount.

Attention! - CSRs & Producers can only add/remove states at their own User Level. They cannot add or remove states from the Agency Level. States a Rating Engine Admin added are applied at an Agency Level and can only be removed by a Rating Engine Admin.

8. You'll see there are two columns next to State(s).

  • My Defaults - Broker Fee amounts setup at your user level.
  • Agency Defaults - Broker Fee amounts setup at the agency level. These will override the My Defaults broker fee amounts and can only be setup by a Rating Engine Admin.

9. Input the amounts you would like for both My Defaults and Agency Defaults (if applicable). Note, you can switch between dollar amount and percentage amount. Note, the My Defaults and Agency Defaults do not have to match in both amount or amount type if applicable.

10. Another Admin only feature is the lock functionality. Clicking the lock will make it broker fee values non-editable on both the Broker Fee tab and the Quote Results page which we will cover later in the article. This is a great way to make sure everyone is using the Agency Defaults if that is applicable.

11. Once you are done, click the Save button to save all your hard work!

Repeat the steps above for every carrier you would like to have a Broker Fee enabled.

5. Checkmark the Show broker fees in my returned quotes option. Enabling this will allow you to see the Broker Fee in the returned quote results after submitting a rating application through the Rating Engine.

Attention! - If you do not have a Broker Fee tab for a particular carrier, your Rating Engine Admin has not enabled the functionality. Please reach out to your Agency Admin for assistance.

6. Next, you'll notice the State(s) column. If your Rating Engine Admin setup states for everyone at the agency, you will see some line items already. Broker Fee in Quote Results

Once Broker Fees has been enabled to show on returned quotes for each carrier(s), you will see a new box for broker fee in dollar amount on the quote results page. This will be a separate value from the carrier's quoted premium. If the field is unlocked by the admin, the value can be edited on the quote results page and will be updated.

Attention! - Percentages will be converted and rounded up to the closest dollar, and Package Quotes will take a combo of both quotes.

You can also email and/or print the quotes with the broker fee included! On the Email Quote(s), you will see a new option to Include Broker Fee for all carriers which will send a link to the Consumer Quoting page.

On the Consumer Quoting page, you shall see Broker Fee as a separate line under each carrier that has a fee associated.

The PDF file itself will show broker fee for each carrier as a separate line immediately below the premium.

Attention! - Quote submitted prior to this release may need to be resubmitted to show the broker fee in the Quote Results page.
