Enabling the Tarmika Integration
You can enable the Tarmika integration by finding it in the Connect Marketplace. To do this, hover over the Connect icon on the left bar in EZLynx, Then, click Home.
From the Connect home page, click on the tag labeled 'Small CL Rating' or 'Commercial'. This will pull up the Tarmika integration card. Click on the Tarmika card to get into the Tarmika integration page.
Please note that EZLynx Submission Center and a Tarmika Account are required to take advantage of the integration with Tarmika. If your agency does not have Submission Center, you will see a green message on the Tarmika integration page stating that Submission Center is required and to contact your Sales Rep to discuss purchasing it.
If your agency is new to Tarmika, you will need to register to take advantage of the efficiency gains that this EZLynx integration provides. Click on 'Enroll with Tarmika' and fill out a quick form. The Tarmika team will help you get registered.
Once your agency is registered with Tarmika or if your agency is already a customer of Tarmika, select 'Add Integration' from the 'Actions' Menu and enter your Tarmika login credentials. After successful validation, enabling the integration is complete and available to use through Submission Center. If you have a login and an error is received when trying to validate, please see your agency administrator for Tarmika.
After successful validation, the page will reload, and you should see a green message stating that the integration was added. Back in the Connect home page, you should also see a checkmark on the Tarmika card indicating this is enabled for your account.
Attention! - Tarmika is a User Level integration which means each user in the agency will need to enable the integration if they want it for their EZLynx account. |
Tarmika in Submission Center Workflow
To start the Tarmika workflow, navigate to a Commercial Applicant and click the Submission tab. Then, click the Create Submission button.
Input the Submissions details for all the required information and then click Save and Continue to move to the Add LOBs step.
From the Add LOBs step, you can add the following currently supported lines of business (LOBs) to bring up the Tarmika Go To Quote button:
Line of Business | Date Added |
---|---|
Auto (Commercial) | Jan. 27, 2023 |
Business Owners Policy | Jan. 27, 2023 |
Genl Liability | Jan. 27, 2023 |
Workers comp | Jan. 27, 2023 |
Attention! - A combined quote cannot contain both Business Owners Policy and General Liability lines of business. |
Using the Line of Business drop down and the Add LOB button, add all the lines of business (LOB) for the submission including LOBs that are not supported by Tarmika. For those LOBs that are not supported yet, you can follow the normal manual submission process. Check out our Submission Center - How to Create & Manage Submissions article to learn how to handle the manual submission process.
Attention! - When a line of business for a carrier is quoted through Tarmika, this line of business (LOB) cannot be submitted manually to an underwriter in the same submission. To manually submit the same LOB to an underwriter, you will need to create a separate submission in Submission Center. |
You can include and associate an application (if applicable) for each LOB by using the Application dropdown next to each LOB. As long as 1 supported LOB is selected, the Tarmika 'Go To Quote' button will appear. Clicking on this button, will redirect you to the Tarmika site where you will land on a new quote session. The lines of business selected in EZLynx that are available for rating in Tarmika will automatically be preselected for the quote session.
On the Tarmika screens anything with an asterisk will need to be filled in. When you are ready, click Save and Continue at the bottom of the screen. Repeat these steps until all information screens are complete. The information screens and fields will be different depending on the LOBs selected.
Attention! - If you have more than 1 Tarmika supported LOB on the quote then only account-level information will prefill from EZLynx to Tarmika. However, if there is only 1 Tarmika supported LOB on the quote, account and application-level information will prefill into Tarmika for supported fields. |
On the Select Carrier screen in Tarmika, click on the carriers you would want a quote from. Notice some carriers may request additional information like a producer code. To see a full list of the Tarmika supported carriers, check out Tarmika's Our Carriers page.
When you have filled in all the additional information for that carrier click the Save button to save that carrier's information and then click another carrier to see their additional information. Once you have added all the carrier's you would like for this quote, click the Save & Continue button to move to the Additional Coverage page.
Attention! - Additionally, any carriers selected to quote within Tarmika must be in your EZLynx Manage Carriers/Markets list which can be edited by Management System Admins. If you select a carrier in Tarmika that is not in your EZLynx Manage Carriers/Markets list, Tarmika quotes will not populate in EZLynx. |
Again, fill in any required information and click Save and Continue to move to the final screen - Supplementary & Submit.
Fill in all the required information and then click on the Submit Quote button at the bottom of the screen. Once you do, you should get a Quote Request Submitted pop-up. Click the View Comparative Quote button to go to the Tarmika Quote Results page.
If you have more than 1 supported LOB on the quote, then on the Tarmika Quote Results page, you will need to click the Edit button and click on the other LOB to trigger the application screens for that LOB. Repeat the steps we've covered so far to complete all LOB screens in Tarmika. Now that all LOBs are submitted for quoting, make your way back to EZLynx.
Attention! - It is not recommended to do the Combined Quote option because you will have to do the first LOB that you already filled in all over again. |
Please note, that the Tarmika quote results are not instant. There will be a delay in getting those results in Tarmika and a delay in posting those results to Submission Center. The EZLynx system will provide a helpful message to remind you about this. The EZLynx System will also send an EZLynx notification to alert you when quotes have been returned and updated in EZLynx Submission Center. The notification will provide information about the submission and in the notification, there will be a link View Submission that will take you directly to the Carrier Submission Page to view the results. That way you can go on with your day and come back to the submission when the results are in.
You will not have to worry about keeping track of when you started the Tarmika quote session and when the quotes come back. The system will do it for you; it will all be in the system log entries. The exciting thing about this feature is that it also gives additional information for the Submissions. The system log will separate the individual submissions. Also, the Quotes tab is in sync with the new quote results from Tarmika.
Now that we are back in Submission Center, click the Save and Continue button to move on to the Select Carriers step. You might see that some carriers are already selected from your selections in Tarmika. Select the rest of the carriers you would like to submit for manual submission keeping in mind the carriers you already submitted to in Tarmika. If you don't have any carriers you would like to submit to manually, you can add the same carriers you submitted to in Tarmika since selecting at least 1 carrier is required to move forward in EZLynx.
On the left, you will see the Known Appetite For This Risk section. These carriers are placed under this column because we are able to display additional appetite information from Ask Kodiak on which carriers may be more inclined to take on the specific risk profiles that you are submitting for. You can also search for other carriers using the Search Carriers field or select from the list on the right under Unknown Risk Appetites column. When ready, click the Save and Continue button.
Next, on the Add Documents step select any documents necessary for any manual submissions you might have included in the submission. On the left, you can search through folders for any documents that are on the customer's account already, or you can upload any document from your computer by clicking the Upload Documents button in the upper right.
Please note, the documents added on the Add Documents step are Master Level which means they will be applied to every carrier. You can add Carrier specific documents in the Carrier Submission step which we'll cover later on in the article. When ready, click the Save and Continue button.
Here on the Carrier Submission view, you will see the cards for each of the carriers selected both manual and those for Tarmika. When accessing this submission moving forward, this will be the default screen you land on. You'll notice that the carriers that were submitted using Tarmika will have a Tarmika logo to easily identify which carriers are which.
Each carrier card will display the LOBs that were submitted. Next to each LOB, there will be a status. For the carriers & LOBs that were submitted through the Tarmika integration, their status is linked to the Tarmika quote results. To help translate what they all mean, please see the table below.
Status in EZLynx | Meaning |
---|---|
Open | Tarmika was not able to submit that Line of Business to the carrier either due to an issue with the carrier site or with the Tarmika LOB application. Check the quote in Tarmika to see if there is any action needed from you before resubmitting the quote. |
Submitted | Tarmika was able to submit to the carrier and the carrier sent back an error. To view the error message, please visit the quote on the Tarmika site. |
Referred | Tarmika has submitted the LOB to the carrier and the carrier needs one of their underwriters to review it before providing a quote. |
Declined | Tarmika has submitted the LOB to the carrier and the carrier declined to provide a quote for that LOB. (i.e. Liberty mutual does not support business with online sale more than $50,000.) The decline reason provided by the carrier comes into EZLynx with a character limit. To view the full message, please visit the quote on the Tarmika site. |
Quoted | Tarmika has submitted the Line of Business to the carrier and the carrier has provided a quote for that LOB. Tarmika sends back the premium to EZLynx and it is displayed in the 'Premium' field on the carrier card. |
You can easily get back to the Tarmika Quote Results page by clicking on the Go To Tarmika button in the upper right.
This will take you back to the LOB screens. To get back to the Quote Results page, click the Home option in Tarmika to see your most recent quotes. Once on your recent quotes, click on the card to pull up the Quote Results for that submission.
Back in EZLynx, let's take a look at what's inside of a carrier card by clicking on a carrier card.
Inside the carrier card you'll see the overall carrier submission status and underwriter, the different LOBs and their statuses, and the master level documents. To assign carrier specific documents, click on the Manage documents button.
To find the decline reason mentioned in the table earlier on, expand the LOB by clicking the arrow button to see the Decline Reason fields. To read the message, you can click into the field and use your arrow keys to scroll through the message. Again, there is a character limit for this field, so to see the full message please visit the Tarmika site.
Looking at the different LOBs, you will also see two new columns - Rated and Carrier Link. The Rated column will have two options 'Online' and 'Manual'. This is to provide clarity on how the submission was provided to the carrier. If you entered the quote information on the carrier website or through a rater, the Rated column should be set to show this line of business (LOB) was rated "online". If applications were emailed to an underwriter, then "manual" should be selected. This will help inform you how to work the specific carrier transaction. When using Tarmika, the system will automatically select the 'Online' option.
For the carriers submitted through Tarmika, when you are ready to bind a quote, you can use the Carrier Link option to take you directly to the carrier site to start the binding process. Please note, the quote will need to be in either the Declined or Quoted status for the Quote Link to appear.
For manual carrier submissions, you would want to navigate to the carrier website on your own. To learn more about the other features of Submission Center and how to handle manual submissions, check out our Submission Center - How to Create & Manage Submissions article.
How to Access an Existing Tarmika Quote Session
If you did not complete a Tarmika quote session or would like to modify an existing quote session, we make it simple to return to the session. The following areas in Submission Center provide access points to existing Tarmika quote sessions:
- At the Add LOBs step of the submission, the Tarmika card will indicate an active quote session, simply click the card to return to that quote session.
- In the Submissions tab in Submission Center, a new column, Tarmika Session, will display a link when an existing quote session exists, simply click 'Go To Tarmika' to access the session.
- Similarly, the Submission Tab from Applicant Account will also display the Tarmika Session column that will display a link when an existing quote session exists. Simply click 'Go To Tarmika' to access the session.
- In the Submission header, a button called 'Go To Tarmika' will take you to the existing session in Tarmika.
This will take you back to the LOB screens for that submission. To get back to the Quote Results page, click the Home option in Tarmika to see your most recent quotes. Once on your recent quotes, click on the card to pull up the Quote Results for that submission.
Updates to the Snapshot page
Now when you go to the Submission Center Snapshot page, you will see new updates that provide more flexible views of your submissions. Instead of buttons on the right-hand side we have moved them to drop-downs on the left-hand side.
Also, you can now filter this by Submission Type. The "All" option is defaulted in this filter and will display all your submissions, regardless of how it was transacted. When "Online" is selected, it will display all the submission that have been indicated as rated online. If "Manual" is selected, it will display all submissions that have the manual indicator. Based on your filter selection, the information on the cards on the Snapshot page will get updated.
Attention! - Keep in mind, any submission, where at least one carrier has this indicator, will be counted. Furthermore, a carrier submission will be counted as online when at least one line of business (LOB) was rated online. |
