With this release we are excited to share that refunds or voids made in Applied Pay now transfer to EZLynx Accounting! When a payment is refunded or voided in the Applied Pay that information transfers to EZLynx Accounting where the payment will be reversed. This will help you maintain your general ledger, and keep the systems in sync when you are working in the two areas by ensuring Applied Pay stays in balance with EZLynx while also taking away extra manual steps!

How to Refund/Void a Payment in Applied Pay


First, navigate to Connect, by hovering over the Connect icon and then clicking on Home.




Within Connect, click on the Payments category and then click on the Applied Pay integration card. 



Once inside the Applied Pay Integration page, click the Go To Applied Pay button. 



Next, click the Transactions tab. Then, click the arrow on the left-hand side of the transaction you would like to refund. Remember, you can use the Add Search Filter option if you are having a hard time finding the specific transaction. 




Under the Payment Events section, click the Refund/Void button. 



A pop-up will appear asking you to confirm you are sure you want to refund the payment. Click the Confirm button to submit the refund. 



The system will begin processing the refund. It may take a few moments, so be on the lookout for the following order of payments statuses: 


REVERSE_REQUESTED > REFUNDED


Once you see the REFUNDED status, then you know the refund process has been completed. Be sure to refresh your browser page if the status is not showing up.




Now that the refund has been processed in Applied Pay, let's see what happened on the EZLynx side of things!


When you reverse a payment in Applied Pay, this will be now be automatically reflected in EZLynx Accounting because the system now automatically creates reversed receipts when a refund is processed. Being able to view these reversals is simple. 


First, locate the account who was refunded either by using the Super Search or the Applicant Pane's Recent Applicant List. Then, click on that account's Invoices tab. 


If there were any invoices applied to the receipt, they will be automatically unapplied so another form of payment can be collected. This is done to make it easier for you to work in both Applied Pay and EZLynx Accounting.



Attention! - This will only affect receipts created AFTER this release. Any refunds or voids created in Applied Pay before this release will have to be reversed manually in EZLynx Accounting as well.
