Producer Commission by Policy Type Report

In this article, we will cover how to build a commission report that shows you home much commission a producer makes based on policy type (Personal vs. Commercial). This can help you determine how much commission a producer is making based on the different lines of business they are selling. Please note, this report only works for Direct Bill Commissions which means you must be using our Direct Bill Commissions feature in the EZLynx Management System.

Navigate to Commission Detail
First, let's navigate to the report.
1. Hover over the Reports icon on the left navigation bar to open the Reports menu.
2. Choose Commission under the Categories section. This will take you to the Commission Category Reports page.
3. Choose the Commission Detail card. This will take you to the Commission Detail report.

Set Date Range Filter
Second, we'll set the date range filter to include only the last fiscal year.
1. Expand the Filters section so you can see the list of filters.
2. Scroll down to the Commission Detail Statement Date filter and select "is in the last" to open the the data type dropdown.
3. Choose "is in the range". This will let you choose a beginning date an an end date for the date range filter.
4. Select the first date box to open the date field. This is the date field that will determine the beginning of the date range filter.
5. Select the Calendar icon to open the Calendar date selector.
6. Using either the scroll bar or the Month/Year selector find the beginning of the last fiscal year.

7. Repeat steps 4-6 for the second date field which will determine the end of the date range filter. Your date range filter should now encompass the last fiscal year.
Set Policy Type Filter
Now let's set the Policy Type filter. This will filter the commission data to only look at commissions for either Commercial or Personal policies.
1. Scroll to find the Commission Detail Policy Type filter and select "any value" to open the dropdown menu.
2. Choose either Personal or Commercial.
Set Approved Filter
Finally, we are going to set the Approved filter. This will filter the data so that it's only looking at commissions that are on Approved Commission Statements.
1. Scroll to find the Commission Detail Approved filter.
2. Select the X on the No filter to remove it so that only Yes remains.
Apply Filters
Now that we have all the filters setup, we can collapse the Filter list and apply them to the report. To do this, select Filters again so the list collapses. Then, select the Run button on the top right hand corner of the report page. This will apply the filters and refresh the report.

Aggregating Numbers
If you are looking to aggregate the data, you will need to complete this step in Excel. To download the report to Excel, please follow the steps below.
1. Select the Reports Actions icon which is a gear.
2. Choose Download. This will open the Download window.
3. Change the Format dropdown to Excel Spreadsheet or CSV.
4. Select the Download button. This will download the report as a file to your computer where you can work on aggregating the data.

Pulling the opposite Policy Type data
Now that you have the data for one side of the Policy Type, you may need to pull the other side. To do this follow the same steps as before but instead choose the other option for Policy Type and rerun the report.
