In this release, we have updated how the Rater handles certain Wind Loss Mitigation (WLM) field options for Citizens Home applications (HO6 policy types).

Due to pending rate order changes from the Florida Office of Insurance (OIR), Home applications for HO6 policy types with an effective date of 07/01/2026 or later may cause Citizens rejecting quotes due to invalid WLM combinations per the current validation logic.

To help you get past these errors, we have added dynamic field level filtering and validations specific to HO6 policy types.

What's in it for me?

  • You can now enter accurate information, leading to more precise premium calculations and improved risk assessment by carriers.

  • This will reduce the need for manual updates on carrier websites and you will spend less time on the quoting process and focus more on serving clients and growing their business.

  • This also reduces the likelihood of underwriting errors and claims disputes leading to higher satisfaction levels and strengthening long-term relationships with your customers.

How it works

When quoting a Citizens Home HO6 application with an effective date of 07/01/2026 or later, the available options for the following fields will dynamically change based on Number of Units, Year Built, Terrain, County and Inspection Done.

  • Roof to Wall Attachment
  • Wind Speed

  • Policy Type is HO6
  • Number of Units is 1-4 Units
  • Terrain is B or C
  • Inspection is Yes
  • Year Built is >=2002
  • Roof Deck Attachment is NOT Reinforced Concrete.
