Transitioning to Reports 5.0: Frequently Asked Questions
Modified on: Thu, 9 Jul, 2026 at 4:36 PM
Moving to Reports 5.0? You're likely to have a few questions along the way — that's normal with any platform change. Where did a familiar report go? How do you rebuild it? What's included with Pro Reports?
We've gathered the questions agencies ask most and answered them clearly, so you can make the transition with confidence.

Columns, Filters & Pro Reports
Q: Can I add or remove columns on a standard report?
A: Not in base Reports 5.0 — that's a Pro Reports feature (paid, per-person upgrade — talk
to your account rep/sales rep). Workaround: download and edit in Excel (you lose in-report
hyperlinks doing this).
Q: Can I share a filter set with teammates?
A: Yes — Actions > Filters > Share. It then shows up in their filter dropdown for that report.
Default is private to the creator.
Q: How do I know if I have Pro Reports already?
A: Have your agency admin confirm internally first. Still unclear? Contact your account
rep/sales rep to confirm whether the agency is licensed for Pro Reports. Details
Q: Can I reorder or freeze columns, and does a freeze setting persist after saving?
A: Yes, you can reorder by dragging headers and freeze/sort/copy values/auto-size via the
column's three-dot menu. Freeze itself is a view-time setting, not a saved property —
freezing on a master/default report (which can't be edited directly) is temporary and won't
carry over. To make it stick: Copy Report, freeze columns on your copy, then Save. Caveat:
5.0 does save some table settings with a report (column widths, collapsed subtotals), but
freeze isn't one of them, so it may still not persist even on a saved copy — if it doesn't hold
there, that's a platform limitation, not user error.
Q: Can I change what a dashboard chart is grouped by?
A: Use “Compare By” on the dashboard (e.g., switch to Line of Business or Master
Company) then click Update. Deeper visual customization needs Pro Reports — talk to your
account rep/sales rep. Details
Q: How do I save a filter set?
A: Actions (top right) > Filters > Add New > name it > save. Details
Q: How do I delete a filter set?
A: Select it, then Actions > Filters > Delete.
Q: Is there a guide for building and applying filters?
A: Saving and applying custom filter sets for Reports 5.0
Access & Getting Started
Q: How do I get access to Reports 5.0?
A: Start with your agency admin. If you're a Member agency/child office, check whether the
parent/main-office admin controls that access. If the admin can't confirm or enable it,
contact EZLynx Support. Details
Q: Is Reports 5.0 available for both standard and advanced packages?
A: Yes — Reports 5.0 is available on both the standard and advanced packages.
Q: What's the difference between a Dashboard and a “Look”?
A: Same underlying data, different display. Dashboards are visual/clickable charts; Looks
show rows-and-columns detail, closer to what legacy reports looked like.
Q: Coworker doesn't have reports access — can they still get a report?
A: Schedule it to be emailed to them as an Excel file instead. Details
Migrating from Legacy Reports
Q: There's no auto-migration — how do I actually rebuild a legacy report in 5.0?
A: Find the matching category in Reports 5.0, set your filters, save as a filter set (Actions >
Filters > Add New), then set up scheduling again via the gear icon if Looks, three dots icon if Dashboard. Tip: document what your legacy report does first, then rebuild — and use this as a chance to clean up duplicate
saved reports. Check out Reports 5.0 - Which Reports are available? and Saving and Applying Custom Filter Sets for Reports 5.0
Q: My legacy and 5.0 numbers don't match — why?
A: Same underlying data pool, likely different default filters. 5.0 numbers are considered
more accurate and refresh faster.
Downloads & Scheduling
Q: How do I download a report?
A: Use the Download button (gear icon on Looks, top-right on Dashboards) and pick PDF,
Excel, or CSV.
Q: Download is capped at 500 rows — how do I get everything?
A: This is most common on a Look report. For Downloading, change 'Number of Rows and Columns to include' from 'Current result table' to 'All Results'. For Scheduling, under Advanced Options, toggle from 'Results shown in table' to 'All results.'
Q: How do I edit or cancel a scheduled report?
A: Reports icon > Reports 5.0 > Scheduled Reports > three-dot menu > edit or delete.
Q: Is the data real-time?
A: Not real-time, but close — it refreshes multiple times a day. Most data is visible within 2–
6 hours of entry; commission reports take about 4–6 hours. If a report isn't updating within
that window, contact support.
Finding Specific Reports
Q: How do I see manual vs. downloaded policies?
A: Check the policy's Source field on the policy record — manual policies explicitly show
Source = Manual. There is no confirmed Reports 5.0 report path yet for pulling this in bulk.
Q: Where do I find retention performance?
A: Retention Center Reports are only for Advanced Package users. You can find them under the Retention Center category > Renewal Detail, Premium Change Detail, or Renewal Summary. For our Standard Package users, check out our Agency Pulse reports. Details
Q: Is there a training session specifically dedicated to Retention Reports?
A: There's no confirmation of a dedicated Retention Reports session. Check out our article Reporting - Agency Performance Pulse Tracking to learn about our Agency Pulse reports which contains a Customer Retention section.
Q: Where do I find production by carrier?
A: Book of Business Summary or Detail — filter by Master Company and use the LOB
Origination Date filter.
Q: Is there a named “Policy Expiration” report in Reports 5.0?
A: Yes — it's the Policy Expiration Detail report.
Q: Is there a subtotal-by-carrier view, like legacy reports had?
A: Yes — available today via the Compare by field on most Dashboard reports. Confirmed on
Book of Business Summary (Compare By → Master Company), Policy Transaction Summary
(Compare By → Master Company), and for a looks report like Commission Grouping (Group By → Carrier); each
totals counts/premium (or commission) by carrier, one row per carrier — the 5.0 equivalent
of the legacy subtotal. If the need is carrier subtotal rows inside a detail report specifically,
that's a separate ask.
Q: Where do I find client tenure or longevity?
A: Use a report that includes the Created Date column which pulls from the Customer Since field from an Applicant's details page.
Q: Is there a report for applicants turning 65, or a birthday report?
A: Birthday Detail, or Age Detail with a ≥ operator.
Q: Where do I find quotes by producer?
A: Quote Reports > Quote Summary or Quote Detail.
Q: Can I pull historical Book of Business data by date range?
A: Not as a direct pull yet — use Agency Pulse Reports to look back month by month. Details
Q: Where do I find commissions by producer?
A: Commission Grouping, filtered by Commissioned Detail Producer.
Q: How are commissions actually calculated?
A: Commission reporting is driven by commission statements plus commission rules and
producer code logic — not just the “Total Commission” display value on the policy. Details
