MAPs provide binding authority to member agencies without providing those members with the direct usernames or passwords. Whenever there is a change to logins, MAP Admins are responsible for making sure that the logins stay up to date for member agencies with Shared Carriers. With that in mind, we are proud to announce with this release the new UI for Carrier Login screens for MAPs. Functionality-wise MAP logins and carrier questions remain the same. The release is simply to make the pages look more consistent with the rest of the EZLynx 5 pages.

Manage Carriers


MAP Admins will see a toggle for independent and shared carriers (if both licenses are available) just like they did before. Just like before, the Shared toggle is for Shared Carriers that are used for member agencies that do not have binding authority. While the Independent toggle is for Independent Carriers for those that have binding authority.




On the new Manage Carrier screen, we have added a new button for MAP Admins - Add Carrier. This button will allow MAP Admins to send a request to EZLynx MAP Support to have new carriers added. You will also be able to send requests when you need to add or remove states or lines of business for specific carriers, or remove a carrier completely for both you and your member agencies. We will cover this later in the article. Once the request has been sent, please allow 1-2 business days for our Support team to process the request.



The other feature that is new to this page is the ability to search and filter the carriers you see on the Carrier Login page. You can filter by carrier, state, or line of business. 



Details & Logins


To set logins, click on the View Details button for the carrier card in question. 




This will take you to the details of the carrier where you will be able to see the states and lines of business the carrier has been enabled for your agency. This page is where you would submit requests to add new states or lines of business to our EZLynx MAP Support team by using the State dropdown. To submit a request to remove a state simply click the trashcan icon on the states line. To submit a request to remove a line of business simply uncheck the line of business box. To submit a request to remove a carrier, click the Actions button to find the Delete Carrier option. Remember to click the Save button or the request will not be submitted!




To set a login, click the Logins tab. Here the functionality is the same as before. Input your carrier login information and then click Save and Test. If the logins do not work, we recommend using the Actions button then clicking Visit Carrier Website to test that the logins work on the carrier website. Remember, if the logins don't work on the carrier website they won't work in EZLynx.




Just like before you can add state specific logins if needed by using the dropdown to select a state and then click the Add State Login button.


NEW! - Shared Logins


The next tab is a new tab that adds new functionality for MAP Admins - Shared Logins! To save MAP Admins time this option will allow you to set logins and share them with sub-agencies that have binding authority without having to log into individual accounts to update the logins.


Please note, this new feature is for Independent Logins only. The Shared toggle we saw on the Manage Carriers screen is for Shared Carriers that are used for member agencies that do not have binding authority. Where as this new Shared Logins tab, is for Independent Carriers which means anyone granted access to these Independent logins should have binding authority. If a member agency has their own logins for the carrier, then you would not want to share your independent logins with them.


The process of adding the logins is the same as before with the exception of the Add/Edit Shared Users button. Once the logins are validated, you can click on the Add Shared Users button to choose others access to these logins. Just like other logins you can also add state specific logins if needed. Underneath the Add/Edit Shared Users button, you'll see the total number of users that have access to that specific login.



Attention! - To be able to see the Shared Logins tab under an Independent Carrier, MAP Admins need to have the Shared Carrier Credential - MAPS permission.

Carrier Questions


Previously known as Carrier Defaults, Carrier Questions are where you would input answers to common carrier questions and input producer codes. Just like before this step needs to be completed for every line of business and state that is available for your agency with the respective carrier. The functionality for locking down Carrier Questions is the same. Simply toggle the lock icon on or off to lock down specific fields for Carrier Questions. Remember locking a field down means that a member cannot change the answer on the application when Rating in EZLynx.
