With this release, we are excited to announce an enhancement to the Commission Statement Approval Workflow for Accounting Users!

The system now displays statement statuses and lets you leave or stay on the statement while it processes. Using browser popups and notifications in workspace, the system will inform you of statement status changes. When multiple users access the same statement, they will all receive the same popup regarding the status. These enhancements aim to streamline the commission process.  Let's see how it works!

How to access

To access this feature, you must be a Management System Admin, have access to Accounting, and the permissions to approve/unapprove commission statements. If you have these requirements, hover over the Management System icon and select Statements. This will take you to the Commission Statements page.

On the Commissions Statements page, find a statement and select Actions. Then, select Edit Details. This will take you to the Commission Statement Details page.

On the Commission Statement Details page, you'll find the Approve/Unapprove checkboxes which is what we need to trigger the new notifications.

How it works

To improve performance on Commission Statement processing and give you flexibility, we have added the ability for you to either remain on the Commission Statement page or navigate away while the statement is processing. There is a new notification to know exactly what the statements status is. This will enable you to navigate between different EZLynx pages simultaneously while the Commission Statement is in the approval process.  When processing commission statements for Accounting users there will be a new notification so that you know exactly what the status of your statement is. We’ll keep you notified on the status of the statement every step of the way!

When you select Approve All or Unapprove All, you will be asked to confirm the action.

Once you confirm the action, a notification will pop-up letting you know that the process has been kicked off. Selecting the Back to Commission Statements button will take you back to the Commission Statement page.

On the Commission Statements page, you will see that the statement you approved or unapproved is processing. All users with access to the Commission Statements page, will see the processing message.

During this time, the statement will be disabled and you or others at your agency will not be able to make any changes until the process is complete. There is no need to stay on the Commission Statement page while you are waiting. Now, you can work through various parts of EZLynx while statements are being processed!

When the statement is done processing, the user that initiated the approve/unapprove process will get two types of notifications letting them know the statement is ready.

A Browser Notification will display in the bottom-right of the EZLynx browser, stating the Carrier Commission Statement number and commission amount. This lets you know that the statement process is complete, and you will be able to interact with the statement again.

Also, a Workspace Notification will be sent where with a direct link to the statement. The notification will include the Carrier, Commission Statement number, commission statement amount, and a direct link to the Commission statement.

If there is a ‘Error’ in the process, you will still get a notification letting you know an error occurred. Return to the statement and attempt to approve or unapprove again, or email accountingsupport@ezlynx.com.

Why is this important?

This enhancement allows you to continue being productive while waiting for a Commission Statement to process. You can navigate anywhere in the system instead of waiting for the statement to be approved or waiting for approval to be reversed. You can now approve Commission Statements and then create receipts for them later. If you have multiple employees processing statements at once, only one person can make changes to a statement at a time. As a result, those employees will not have to do double work saving you time and effort.

We hope you enjoy these new features and look forward to our future releases! If you are looking for training on Accounting, check out our related articles on the right side of the page.
