FL Regulatory Changes for Rating Engine

In this release, we have updated how the rater handles certain coverage fields options when quoting in the state of Florida. To help you successfully obtain quote premiums from Florida carriers, we have added field validations and restricted certain options to the Personal Property, All Perils Deductible and Hurricane Deductible fields.

Removed automatic rounding of values for Personal Property
When quoting a Home or Dwelling Fire application in the state of Florida, previously there was automatic rounding up/ down of values that you entered for Personal Property on the Coverage tab. This functionality has been removed so that the exact value you enter will now be included in the quote submission.
Options for All Perils Deductible
When quoting a Home application in the state of Florida, the available options for All Perils Deductible on the Coverage tab are restricted to the following:
- 500
- 1000
- 2500
- 5000
When quoting a Dwelling Fire application in the state of Florida, the available options for All Perils Deductible on the Coverage tab are restricted to the following:
- 500
- 1000
- 2000
- 2500
- 5000
Options for Hurricane Deductible
When quoting a Home application, the available options for Hurricane Deductible on the Coverage tab are restricted to the following:
- 500
- 2%
- 3%
- 5%
- 10%
- Exclude Wind
- Excluded
Why is this important?
These enhancements are extremely important and helps ensure that you will be able to successfully obtain quote premiums from Florida carriers.
Improved efficiency:
- You can now enter accurate information, leading to more precise premium calculations and improved risk assessment by carriers.
- This will reduce the need for manual updates on carrier websites and you will spend less time on the quoting process and focus more on serving clients and growing their business.
- This also reduces the likelihood of underwriting errors and claims disputes leading to higher satisfaction levels and strengthening long-term relationships with your customers.
