With this release, we have made enhancements in the Rating Engine for the following state regulatory changes:


Massachusetts (MA)North Carolina (NC)
  • State specific coverages for MA to the minimum liability values to adhere to the state's insurance law, an increase in the minimum liability limits for new policies, effective from July 1st, 2025
  • State specific coverages for NC to the minimum liability values to adhere to the state's insurance law, an increase in the minimum liability limits for new policies, effective July 1st, 2025.

What's in this for me?


These enhancements are important for EZLynx to be in-line with the state's insurance law regulatory changes. It helps ensure that you can be confident that the EZLynx Rater is providing you with the most up-to-date coverage information, so you can provide your clients with accurate quotes.


With these enhancements, we are updating the below coverage liability limits for the respective states in the EZLynx Rater, Quoting Automation Service (QAS) Templates, and Consumer Quoting (CQ):


Massachusetts (MA)North Carolina (NC)
  • Bodily Injury (BI)
  • Uninsured Motorist (UM)
  • Underinsured Motorist (UIM)
  • Property Damage (PD)
  • Bodily Injury (BI)
  • Uninsured Motorist (UM)
  • Underinsured Motorist (UIM)
  • Property Damage (PD)
  • Uninsured Motorist Property Damage (UMPD)

Massachusetts (MA) Changes


For the state of Massachusetts, we are updating the minimum limits as below:  

  • Minimum liability for Bodily Injury will be 25/50. 
  • Minimum liability for UM/UIM will be 25/50. 
  • Minimum liability for Property Damage will be 30000. 


In addition to the above changes, we are adding a new option of 40/90 for OBI, UM & UIM coverages. 


In the EZLynx Rater, you will see these updated coverage limits under the general coverage section of an Auto Application.



In the QAS Templates, you will see the minimum liability limits under the General section of the state in the coverage tab.




In the Consumer Quoting portal, you will see the minimum liability limits under the State minimum section. 



North Carolina (NC) Changes


For the state of North Carolina, we are updating the minimum limits as below:  

  • Minimum liability for Bodily Injury will be 50/100. 
  • Minimum liability for UM/UIM will be 50/100. 
  • Minimum liability for Property Damage will be 50000. 
  • Minimum liability for Uninsured Motorist Property Damage will be 50000.


In the EZLynx Rater, you will see these updated coverage limits under the general coverage section of an Auto Application.



In the QAS Templates, you will see the minimum liability limits under the General section of the state in the coverage tab.



In the Consumer Quoting portal, you will see the minimum liability limits under the State minimum section.

These timely updates to the system help the users to choose the right coverage or the vehicle year during the auto quoting process, which will result in the accurate quote generation.
