Quotes Tab
Let's take a look at the Quotes tab first and then we'll take a look at the Quote Results page later on in this article.
How to Access
On a customer's account, select the Quotes tab. This is where you'll find all quotes related to this customer's account, whether they were generated using our comparative rater - the Rating Engine - or inputted manually by you the agent.
The columns on this Quotes tab can give you some useful information. Check out the table below to see what each one means.
Column | Meaning |
---|---|
Last Rate | The date and time the quote was last submitted. |
LOB | The line of business(es) the quote was submitted for. |
Description | This displays the description of the rating application if one was inputted. |
Sales Center | Please note, this column is only available if you have our Sales Center product. This displays the line of business if it has been associated to an opportunity in Sales Center. |
Did you know? - The arrows on the first quote under the Last Rate column in the image above mean that this quote was received after switching the applicant and the co-applicant. More on this later in this article! |
Expanded View
To view the high-level details of that quote's results, select the arrow on that quote's line item. This will expand the quote so you can see the quotes in the graph view. More on Graph view later in this article.
Actions
For each quote line item, there is an Actions icon. Selecting this icon shows the Actions menu. Check out the table below on the different actions and what they do.
Name | Action |
---|---|
View Details | This option will take you to the Quote Results page. More on this in the Quote Results section of this article. |
Delete | This option will delete the quote completely. Please use this feature wisely as deleting a quote is not reversible. |
Associate Opportunity | Please note, this option is only available if you have our Sales Center product. This option allows you to tie the quote to an opportunity in Sales Center. |
Quote Results Page
Now that we've learned how to navigate the Quotes tab, let's take a look at the Quote Results page!
How to Access
The Quote Results page is a quote's specific page, and you can access it in a few different ways.
- Rating Application - The most common way you'll get to the Quote Results page is when you are submitting a rating application through the Rating Engine. Choosing Submit on the Submit to Carriers page will take you to the Quote Results page.
- Recent Quotes - Under the Applicant icon, you'll find the Recent Quotes section. There you'll see the most recent quotes you've visited based on your user setting preferences. To learn more about user settings, check out our EZLynx Basics - User Settings article. Selecting one of the Recent Quote links will take you to the Quote Results page.
- Quotes Tab - One way is to access the Quote Results from the Quotes tab page is to expand the quote and then click on the details. This will take you to the Quote Results page.
- Quote Tab - Another way is to access the Quote Results from the Quotes tab is to select the Actions icon to open the Actions menu and choose View Details. This will also take you to the Quote Results page.
There are so many ways to get to the Quote Results page because we want it to be super easy to access no matter where you are in EZLynx. Now that you are on the Quote Results page, let's take a look around.
Estimated Premium
This Estimated Premium slider helps give you an idea of the value of the risk as you are preparing to quote. This slider is visible from the rating applications, so you probably have seen it before. It compares a billion different rating applications stored in EZLynx and gives you an indication of where the premium might fall before submitting to carriers.
Graph vs. Non-Graph View
At the top-right, there is a toggle titled Graph View. While this toggle is on, the layout of the Quote Results page will be in Graph view. This view is great at quickly viewing the quote results at a glance because the premiums are displayed as bars. The higher the premium, the longer the bar.
When toggled off, the layout of the Quote Results page will be in non-graph view where you can find the premium numbers on the right side of each carrier's line item. This view is great if you want to have quick access to the Go To Carrier button. Check out our Rating & Management - EZLogin Button article to learn more about what that button does.
View More Details
Regardless of what view you choose; you can expand the quote results to view more details such as:
- Coverage & Premium Breakdowns
- Applied Discounts
- Underwriting Messages
- Payment Plan details
- Quote Number (if applicable)
To access more details if you are in Graph View, simply select the arrow to expand the carrier's line item.
To access more details if you are in Non-Graph View, simply select the View More Details button and the carrier's line item will expand.
Full Pay vs. Monthly vs. EFT
In the top-left, you'll find three payment option buttons:
- Full Pay: This option means the premium would be paid-in-full for the policy's term.
- Monthly: This option means a down payment is normally involved and each recurring payment will be paid in monthly installments.
- Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT): This option means a down payment is normally involved and recurring installments until the premium is paid-in-full.
Selecting the buttons will switch the quote results to respective the selected payment option. Please keep in mind that not all carriers support all payment options. In such a case, your first step would be to check the Full Pay option as most carriers support this feature. If that doesn't work, your second option would be to reach out to the carrier directly.
Best Practices! - Once you find your preferred payment method option view, use your User Settings to set it as your preference. Check out our EZLynx Basics - User Settings to learn how! |
Scored vs. Non-Scored
Next to the payment option buttons, you'll find two more buttons:
- Scored: This means that the credit check was ordered upon submission and the premium is based on that score.
- Non-Scored: These quote results are from carriers who don't use a true credit score in a comparative rater, meaning the results are based on an assumed score.
The number in parentheses on the respective buttons is the total number of quotes returned for each option. Select the buttons to switch between Scored vs. Non-Scored view.
Premium Sort
On the top-right of the page, you'll find a Premium Sort dropdown. The sort options depend on the payment option buttons we talked about earlier. For example, if you are on the Full Pay option, the sort options only sort by premium whereas if you are on the Monthly and EFT payment options, the sort options include premium, down payment, and installment payment.
Simply select the dropdown to open the Sort menu and then select the sort option and the system will update the Quote Results page.
Switch Applicant with Co-Applicant
If your rating application has an applicant and a co-applicant, you will see a Switch Applicant with Co-Applicant button in the top-left. This feature comes in handy when shopping for the best premium because you can seamlessly switch between the applicant and co-applicant and re-submit the application to see who may come back with the best rates.
Select the Switch Applicant with Co-Applicant button to start the process. This will open the Switch Applicant with Co-Applicant window. Please note, this button will only appear if you have a co-applicant on the quote.
On the Switch Applicant with Co-Applicant window, confirm everything looks good by selecting the Ok button. This will close the window, switch the co-applicant with the applicant and resubmit the quote.
Once the applicant and the co-applicant are switched and you have received the new quote results, you will be able to see the information icon that says that the applicant for the quote is now the co-applicant.
Go to Carrier
Once you and your customer have decided on the best option, you can use the Go To Carrier button to go to the carrier's website where you can run any carrier specific reports to finalize the premium and bind the policy. The Go To Carrier button is our EZLogin button. To learn more about it, check out our Rating & Management - EZLogin Button article.
If you are in Graph View, you can find the Go To Carrier button under the expanded view of a carrier's quote result line item. Simply select the Go To Carrier button to go to the respective carrier's website.
If you are in Non-Graph View, you can find the Go To Carrier button right on the carrier's quote result line item.
Best Practices! - The Rating Engine can provide a good quote based on what the customer has provided you. However, there are some items that need to be double-checked on the carrier site. That's why it's best practice to always double-check on the carrier site once your customer has picked the carrier they want. |
Add Value to Your Quote
Underneath the quote result line items, you will see the Add Value to Your Quote button. Selecting this button will open up the EZLynx Connect Rating Shelf which stores common third-party integrations that can help enhance your sales opportunities. Check out our EZLynx Connect - Rating Shelf article to learn more!
Resubmit
On the bottom of the quote results page, you'll find a Re-submit button. This button allows you to resubmit the rating application to the carriers again to see if the results change. This option is best used if you have made updates to the rating application or if you have updated logins and are trying to fix carrier errors.
Next to the Re-submit button, there is an Envelope icon. If you select this icon, you will be able to send an email to your customer so they can view the selected results in your customized Consumer Quoting portal. If you do not have our Consumer Quoting product, no worries! You can still use this email feature as the system will use a default EZLynx provided Consumer Quoting portal instead. This feature is useful if your customer isn't in front of you and you want to show them their options.
Export
Next to the Email icon, you'll find a Download icon. If you select this icon, you will be able to export the applicant data as either an EZLynx or ACORD formatted XML file. You can decide which line of business information you want to include in the XML file before you decide to export.
Next to the Export icon, you'll find a Print icon. If you select this icon, you will be able to print out either a Summary or Detailed View of the quote results. You can decide which carriers and which lines of business to include in this print out. This is useful if your customer is in front of you and you want to show them their options.
Delete
Next to the Export Icon, you'll find a Delete icon. If you select this icon, you will be able to delete the quote. Please use this feature wisely as deleting a quote is not reversible.
